I’m no artist, but I can see why he doesn’t like it.
That painting is flattering more than anything. I would love to see how trump sees himself.

I get what he’s saying. It isn’t really a true representation of him. To really capture the full sensory experience of standing in his presence, the artist really should have mixed some dog shit into the paint.
Also a picture of Trump doesn’t ever really seem quite right unless it’s on fucking fire.

Honestly I’m not a fan of the artist’s style. I don’t think it’s a question of talent or skill (they clearly have a lot of both), I suspect there style is somewhat divisive in what people think of it.
Imagine being the president of a superpower and having enough free time to concern yourself with a random painting, this guy should’ve been a manager at McDonald idk how he managed to win twice.
It’s actually not a bad portrait. It lends a degree of gravity and dignity to the subject many wouldn’t necessarily naturally assign to the figure in question ..
Trump seems to gravitate toward very garish and camp aesthetics. Something along the lines of a used-car-salesman on acid meets televangelist collection plate rattler.
