    1. One of the best, if not the best Bond, that got screwed over by dumb over the top plot lines(even for Bond) and awful writing.

Whilst I can see him still hitting the profile from the books, I’m slightly worried Amazon will disneyfy the role and make bond, James bond a non binary, multi coloured flag wielding short person who is from mars.

    3. Sean Connery did a one off return from retirement plot line, technically the last movie Daniel Craig did too…

I’d watch it, they’d make a shittonne of product placement money, and it would give them a few more years to figure out the next arc.

Edit: Daniel Craig did that plotline *twice*

    4. From what I’ve heard the current Dr Who is nailed on 1st choice.

Also hearing rumours of Kathleen Kennedy being involved.

I think Brosnan as a proper, retired old man Bond who can no longer parkour his way out of problems with a russian hit squad coming after him would work, legit.

My personal opinion is that Pierce was the best Bond, though I have a liking for the Roger Moore Bond, as he took the piss mercilessly.

    7. To be fair, if Amazon wanted to get fans onside this could be a killer move as a one-off. As long as they played it as a retired/aged 007 and not a View to a Kill/ Never say Never again let’s pretend he’s still in his 30s.

    8. Adapt Mark Miller’s King of Spies and just adjust a little for it to be Pierce’s old man Bond!

      That would be fun.

It’s probably the only proposal that would get me to go to the cinema for a bond film, I think it could be cool but undoubtedly Amazon would absolutely ruin it somehow

    10. “I think it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie, really. I think so. It’s a rather romantic notion and idea, but I think everything changes, everything falls apart. I think that it’s best left to another man, really. Fresh blood,” he said at the time.

Wow yeah…. He really seems up for it…

    11. Hear me out, Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton play retired 007’s called back into service to assist new 007 (insert young actor here) defeat whoever the new threat is that has crippled MI6. One scene must include both older Bonds looking at each other and exclaiming “For England James” before engaging the enemy one last time. Gold right there I tell you.

Ah, the great Hollywood benchmark of being good enough to ‘get away with it’.

I stopped watching after Pierce Brosnan, he will always be my favourite.

I think I could get away with playing Bond

      Not sure anyone would agree….

    15. Brosnan in a bond film not playing bond would be weird but Brosnan playing Bond in his 70s would be equally as weird unless he’s the opening scene then it flashes back to the new bond for the rest of the film

    16. Estimated-Delivery on

You know what, I’d watch him be an older Bond for a dollar. He’s got presence.

    17. Please do a one off with him while waiting for next one, it’s free money and easy good will.

    18. Enchilada0374 on

They should do one with all the Bond actors, where they switch throughout the movie, but it’s never acknowledged.

    19. He should be a retired bond brought back to ease in the new replacement for the one that died

    20. Well, how many active Batman’s are there right now?

Go ahead and make the Bond multiverse

    21. Sir_Henry_Deadman on

They should do new bond sent to kill old bond because it’s just a fake cover anyway they give to all the 007s

Then they realise it’s some inside op and both work together

    22. Id rather he play an M or other double O like Sean Bean in Goldeneye.

Unfortunately he is now too old to play the main Bond character, but Id love for him to take up a side role. Maybe showing the new 00 agent (codename Bond) the ropes before being taken out mid/late film, setting up a revenge plot.

    23. He is the best Bond. Even though most of his films were shit. GoldenEye alone makes him my favourite.

    24. Everything or Nothing was a Bond movie made into a game, and it’s absolutely fantastic – Brosnan at his best.

If they wanted to do another Brosnan Bond, maybe a game is the more feasible option?

The names Bond, Geriatric Bond. I’d take a Martini but the doctor has given me these pills for my bad knees and I can’t take them with alcohol… I used to have a license to kill but due to my eyesight I can’t even get a license to drive..

    26. Rockin-Robin66 on

I’m afraid not old bean. Maybe he could play a retired secret agent, but not a fully operational one. Bond should not be played by anyone who is over 50, it doesn’t  work.
I personally think he did a fantastic job playing Bond, but everything has a shelf life.

    27. I can think of three possibilities for him to return to the Bond franchise.

1] He plays M instead of 007. Age would not be a bar then.

      2] He plays a Bond Villain…

3] or the most off the wall idea… He’s Bond, but an older Bond mentoring his younger, replacement James Bond. Bond being a cover identity, not a real person.

    28. Make it like Equalizer 3, retired and enjoying a peaceful life in a village before shit goes south and he kicks ass.

    29. Flora_Screaming on

This would never happen, but if they were being faithful to the books Bond would really be played by someone like Ben Whishaw. Everyone associates Bond with the tough guy Sean Connery played him as, but really he’s more of a fussy civil servant who gads about the world living the high life on expenses while also getting the shit kicked out of him, often escaping through pure luck.
