Probably another wank gone wrong like that MI5 agent that died all alone.

It feels wrong to be a stickler here, but the article states *His torso and limbs are still missing* and his head, feet and hands were found inside the suitcase.

That’s not really a body now, is it…I mean, really?

      Edit: I know it’s dismembered…

    3. Criminals don’t mess about in Colombia

Is this likely wandered into the wrong area sort of thing?

Random attack or related to his research? It might sound odd but I know biologists have been murdered in the Amazon over the years when doing conservation fieldwork. A murder this grizzly sounds like he got on the wrong side of a cartel, and significantly at that.

    5. So in parts of Columbia there are what are known as chop houses. Where local gangs chop up a victim in as loud and horrible a way as possible to scare the local populace into submission.

Possibly he landed the wrong side of one of these.

    6. 10 grand for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible? Is that really worth the likely consequences of grassing on a cartel member?
