It’s going to be bad for them but the Americans made their own bed and now they need to lay in it. It’s not just tourism that is going to be affected. Business trips are also slowing down. In my industry, people are cancelling planned business trips to the states and at least one conference that was scheduled for July has been straight up cancelled because international professionals are very nervous about travelling to the states right now.

My old man has crossed the border three to five times a week for almost 30 years. He can’t get loads coming back close enough to where he lives so he’s stopped accepting crossborder loads altogether. I think he’s enjoying hauling more stuff into Quebec and Northern Ontario anyway; we’re definitely happier knowing he’s not travelling in the US all the time.

No shit, sherlock. I cancelled two conferences I used to attend. This was easily 15K in hotel, conference fees, flights, restaurants. I’m just waiting things out, it’s too crazy for now.
