The group Tuvie Design had made a concept for a car where you can drive while standing standing up, eliminating a host of health hazards brought by prolonged periods of sitting down. It's also great for solo commuters who don't need utilize a full size car for their everyday commute. And parking availability is much better due to the zero degree turn radius and its small size

I will keep my four-door sedan, thanks.
Not to mention it would likely reduce much of the traffic congestion and due to its small size, have a smaller carbon footprint on the environment

Also, if the construction is solid enough, it works as a coffin too. I mean, you are definitely dying if you crash in that thing…. so they can just move on to burying you in it.
That’s not gonna be “car”. Hit brakes hard from anything over 25kmh and it will tip. Electric moped.
This is what happens when you ask a designer when you should have asked an engineer.
So, a Segway scooter with enclosure for people to ban and ignore.
Be real, the use case is not to replace cars, but to replace walking.

Replacing health hazard of sitting down with health hazard of standing up is questionable. Maybe they need to add a feature to switch from vertical to horizontal.
So, they took the idea of that luggage that follows you and made it bigger with the controls inside?
They’ve taken a Segway and just added an enclosure on top. It doesn’t look practical, and doesn’t look roadworthy either…

This reminds me of a Sarco pod on wheels. Anyone actually considering using one on the open roads might as well consider it to be one, especially here in the land of F-150s everywhere.

There is no way that this would work. It could never reach highway speeds with that. The drag you would get would be crazy, and the motor/battery is way too small. There would also be no way that could pass any crash safety standards.
I’m genuinely curious, where would something like this be useful? I’m having difficulty thinking of a scenario where an “enclosed Segway” like this would make sense, namely because:
* When it inevitably falls over onto the only door, how does one escape the vehicle?
* Given the lack of ground clearance, seems like it would be rather accident prone and only useful for flat and relatively level surfaces
* It’s doubtful this has AC, and would become very hot inside during summer months in the sun
* Bonus: Doubles as a bob-sled if it falls over on a hill during winter
It’s like a real life version of the air helmets the Celestial Dragons in One Piece wear, so they don’t have to breathe the same air as the commoners.
This is perfect for billionaires. The only people with money to spend these days.
