Let’s not jump for joy yet, we’ve been here before.
This needs to be double and triple verified. And make sure we go through our chemistry books to ensure that DMS cannot be made any other way.

Only a narcissist would confidently state there isn’t life on another planet. Imagine being so full of self importance you think you are the only intelligent life out there.

Ive been hesitantly and skeptically following news and papers about this planet [kepler-18b](https://science.nasa.gov/exoplanet-catalog/k2-18-b/) for a few years now and ill say that i am
cautiously enthused but not convinced theres life there (yet).
Even for me as an agnostic this would be a huuuge shift in mentality.
Why me?

Fun fact: dimethyl sulphide (DMS) and dimethyl disulphide (DMDS) are molecules that bird’s noses are highly sensitive to, as their presence tells where food is located.
Birds use magnetism and DMS concentration “maps” to navigate.
It’s 124 light years away, even if we know they have life, I don’t think we’ll find out what kind of life in our lifetime.
Where is the real supporting facts these days everything is literally just someone posting making stuff up
Strongest doesn’t mean strong. There is only one study that claim to have spotted some organic compound in this planet’s atmosphere with a very weak certainty ( 3 sigma)
