  1. That’s what happens when you become a major defense contractor.

How about some data showing how Democrat congresspeople became multimillionaires on a government salary? That’s something we all want to know.

  2. Is this data on a significant lag? I would have thought Musk would be getting way more in 2025, even if it’s only the first 2 months.

  3. The vast majority of that is SpaceX, Tesla accounts for relatively very little.

You can hate on Musk, but SpaceX has revolutionized how the U.S. has deployed space cargo, repaired satellites, etc. Contracting with SpaceX has saved the government billions compared to if they just had NASA continue to do everything internally.

Most of those are going to SpaceX because it was literally the cheapest option for the government. That is payment for services rendered and not a subsidy.

  5. Misleading Chart Alert: Elon Musk’s 2025 Government Contracts Are Way Higher Than This Image Shows

This chart is wildly inaccurate for 2025 and already outdated. It claims Elon Musk’s companies only received $0.23 billion in federal contracts in 2025 which is flat-out false.

Here’s what’s really happened just in the first few months of 2025:

$5.9 Billion awarded to SpaceX in April 2025 by the U.S. Space Force for 28 National Security Space Launch (NSSL) missions

$1.8 Billion classified contract to SpaceX’s Starshield division for a military surveillance satellite constellation

Total confirmed government funding since Jan 2025 is already over $7 billion, and may exceed $10B+ if the proposed “Golden Dome” missile shield contract goes through.

So where did the $0.23B number come from? Likely outdated or cherry-picked from [USAspending.gov](http://USAspending.gov), which can lag months behind, especially for classified defense contracts that aren’t instantly reflected in public databases.

    Moral of the story:

Don’t trust bar graphs without timestamps or context. Musk’s federal contract money in 2025 has exploded, especially for military/defense projects.

  6. The only reason for posting this data is to push people towards a conclusion without any critical thinking.
