Amazing what you can do with community spirit, a bit of can-do attitude, and a massive pile of cash
“I cant believe it, I cant believe it. Football bloody hell” Sir Alex Ferguson This is what its all about
I don’t follow football at all, but love this.
I also love how the opposing team manager got “flack” because he said it was a like a “circus”, which in fairness from the quote wasn’t his intention, but why apologise for this?
If I was a Wrexham fan, I’d be screaming “yes, this is a fucking circus. Some rich Hollywood guys literally bought our shitty team for a laugh, and tried to see if they could get us to the Premiership, now we’re potentially just one season away. LET’S FUCKING HAVE IT LADS!”
Isn’t this the point of football? It’s a sport, not politics or scientific research – it is entertainment, a game, a laugh, a bit of fun.
Surely if Wrexham make it to the Premiership and then win it, isn’t just the peak of football, it’s the peak of all sport ever in history. This is *literally* what sport is about and has been for thousands of years.
Let’s fucking have it lads!
It will be a massive challenge to stay in the Championship next season. Money alone is not going to save them, they are going to need one hell of a squad to avoid the drop. A lot of the new fans might be surprised to see Wrexham struggle in such a competitive league.
I haven’t watched the series.
Did they just buy good players??
Vardy going there might just give them the goals to get promotion
Premier League in 2026 at this rate. Good for them.
When you look at it their rise has been sustainable and community driven. They have built Wrexham’s finances through growth such as ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise and actually biggest of all their global market and fan engagement. Over 50% of their revenue is from outside of the UK. There has been investment from the owners but it’s not reckless.
They’ve actually cleared debt, improved the stadiums and training ground and invested in building their own academy.
It’s good for real Wrexham fans, but the new American following are nauseating.
Fine, but it’s good for Wrexham to be in the top tier, the premier league should have teams spread around the country, and Wrexham is a place with heart.
“Historic” climbing their way up the divisions with just two things: a dream, and ten million pounds.
