I was on my way to Tbilisi to do 3 shows, in total over 500 good humoured people were supposed to come.

I wasn’t given a reason why I was denied entry. The border agent gave me a piece of paper where the reason was "other cases envisaged by Georgian legislation"

Could this video be the reason I wasn’t allowed in?

It could be all the other ones, we’ll never know…
this conversation was recorded in Copenhagen in March 2025

I apologise to the people who had tickets to the shows that I had to cancel so short notice. All your tickets have been refunded.

Huge thanks for the hundreds of messages of support from the lovely people of Georgia. My heart is with you all. I am fine, don’t worry about me.
I hope one day we’ll meet at a show in Tbilisi and laugh about all of this!

Love, strength and freedom to all Georgian people,
Victor

  1. Sucks they didn’t let you in, will be some kind of profiling whether it’s that video or another.

I reckon someone should set up you up a big screen to do a remote show in Tbilisi if you’d be up for it – have a feeling you’d get 10x turnout vs the original shows. Not the best format for comedy obviously but it’d be a great statement on free speech.

Foreign photographers and journalists who covered the protests have also been turned away at the border. One guy who’s lived here for years—and even has a Georgian wife—was denied entry just for taking part in the protests. The current ‘government’ is clearly super touchy about all that, lol

They scored an own goal with this – waaaay more people will now hear your ‘dangerous’ ideas

When we overthrow the government, we’ll invite you back, my friend! <3

Bro i’d love to visit your show, you are so funny.
This country is experiencing not the best time, sometimes they’re declining people just for no reason. Your jokes have nothing to do with that.

Hey man, I’m sorry to hear that, you were great in Yerevan, I hope you won’t take this personally, they deny entry to anyone who is in any way critical of the Georgian government, even pro-European Armenian journalists.

Oh cmon this is getting ridiculous already… I would have loved to attend one of your shows. Why are they doing this?

Current government is equivalent of nazi fascism. what do you expect, free speech?

I would be very pissed about this, you have no access to one of the best food 😩 take it to the fucking EU Court, every human being should be allowed to eat khachapuri

  10. If you were denied entry it’s because you supported protests or said something anti-Russian. Kremlin is controlling who gets to visit Georgia these days.

I love your stuff man, it’s nice to see a comic this knowledgeable about the world in general.

Sad that our Homeland is getting increasingly authoritarian, they are trying to obfuscate it with plausible deniability but it’s clear as day what is going on.

Well as a Georgian living in Romania I hate this twice as much because I think both countries could benefit from more cultural exchange. We are very alike but we know next to nothing about each other even though we’re pontic neighbors.

Still though would love to go to some local shows once my Romanian is better.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m also a foreigner who will hopefully be visiting Georgia in September for work. I appreciate knowing the possibility of being denied entry. I’ve been twice without any issues.

    1. Were there any other Romanians with you who were granted access?

    2. Were you granted access before?

    3. Did you have travel insurance that they asked for?
