Did she give the finger as well ? Let’s see what she does as Mayor. Got a feeling she’ll mess it up as she’s our version of MTG….Loud but incompetent..and rather thick…

I grew up in Lincolnshire and I worry the lack of mixing within the gene pool has led to this. I mean we talk about Badenoch having an awful interview…but short of shitting her pants on the way out, I’m not sure how this could have gone any worse? And now I’m congratulating a reform mayor on not shitting themselves on telly as a success….

She is undoubtedly a total moron but the major Parties should be absolutely ashamed she has still somehow beaten them.

I have reached into my soul and given you an irony, and you throw it back in my face? I see this is not a civilised exchange of ironies.

    > In her victory speech at Grimsby, Dame Andrea claimed the campaign was ‘filled with irony as one of the candidates stated I was parachuted in, she said in her South African accent

Can’t even finish her victory speech without sticking her foot in her mouth. I look forward to the entertainment this half wit will produce in her new role.

  6. The problem is, the people who voted for her will say “Why are you upset? She’s right!”. What a time to be alive.

Not even a day and they’re showing their true colours. Racist shit stains.

People are voting for this- unironically- because they think there’s too many black people on telly and they have to sit next to the occasional person without a British accent on the bus.

You really do get what you vote for.

Just don’t do the shocked Pikachu face when they drop their first budget and dismantle the NHS.

Her victory speech was all me me me, she is obviously cut from the same cloth as the new American Republicans, just sling shit around till some sticks.

  10. Lol, she’s a Reform politician of course sy sal kak praat. She’ll say worse soon! They can’t help it.

I like that the career path for a right wing social media darling is simply: be an obnoxious twat. You can’t qualify unless you fit into the obnoxious twat demographic. It’s called the Bright Red Concrete Ceiling.

  12. Does anyone have a link to her actual acceptance speech? All the articles I can find are of this conversation but I wanna hear the actual speech at issue. I mean it does sound pretty dumb and bad but the spin seems to be it’s okay to pretend she’s better qualified because she doesn’t have a foreign accent like the other person.

If that was really her funny little spin on words then she has no leg to stand on when this reporter is asking if she is really being the bigger person while doing divisive politics.

She was parachuted in, she doesn’t live here and is a Tory reject.

    God, I hate my locals.

  14. Couldn’t even make it a day.

Whoever voted for this should be ashamed of themselves.

  15. Ah, “Dame” Andrea Jenkyns – the moron’s moron.

There must be some extremely unpleasant and uneducated people in Lincolnshire.

Populism and racism, they are learning from Trump and MAGA. My current hope is the economic mess Trump has caused will become so obvious that we will learn not to follow in their footsteps before it is too late…

  17. Classic Reform “we’re not racists we swear” UK.

Starting as they mean to go on.

  18. And their voters try to say they’re not racist. Hilarious.

At least have the deceny to admit what you are because none of you are fooling any of us

Anyone got a copy and paste of the article so we don’t have to click on the heil and give them money?

Honestly, Jenkyns’ win is one thing — the size of the margin shows Reform UK is definitely striking a chord — but her behavior immediately after getting elected is pretty concerning.

She used her victory speech to take a jab at a rival’s South African accent, which just feels unnecessary and borderline xenophobic. Three other candidates literally walked off stage and refused to shake her hand — that says a lot about how it landed in the room.

Then there’s the stuff about Channel migrants living in tents — “if it’s good enough for France…” — and cutting off a Sky News interview mid-question by batting away the mic. It’s all very populist theatre, but not exactly the kind of professionalism you’d hope for from a regional mayor.

I get that Reform’s message is resonating with people who feel ignored by the main parties, but surely there’s a way to challenge the status quo without resorting to cheap shots and performative outrage?

Well spouse she’s starting as she means to go on, a far right dumpster fire of low IQ temper tantrums and seeing how far she can push the racism Overton window before she gets slapped and screams about freeze peach on the telegraph

  22. So we can’t argue that Andrea will support British citizens if we’re not white or straight.

    Cool. Excellent.

  23. Pinkerton891 on

Oh its a good start isnt it.

Well done Lincolnshire, your Mayor was a member of the Truss cabinet. So much for change eh.

  24. BalasaarNelxaan on

Off to a good start then.

Out of her depth if she stood in a puddle…

  25. SuccessfulWar3830 on

“And as my first act as mayor! I shall be racist”

    Deform voters in a nutshell.

  26. ONE_deedat on

    Be racist.

    Get called out.

Say it was a joke. Gaslight if possible.

    (Average day for Reform politicians)
