      >A man who killed a nine-year-old girl after failing to stop at a red traffic light has been jailed for more than eight years.

      >Qadeer Hussain, 55, collided with Alice Williams on King Cross Street in Halifax on July 8 last year in what the police described as “a truly tragic incident”.

      >She died in hospital a few days later after suffering critical injuries.

      Apart for the normal lenient sentence for killing a child with a car, West Yorkshire Police [have put out a video about the case](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laknyk-xy5s) which is something I’ve not seen before

      That light was red for 4-5 seconds before he sped through. This was a conscious choice to put lives in danger, far beyond a risky bit of amber gambling. I hope the consequences of his actions haunt him forever.
