That is quite dire. I’m fairly sure he’d make an even worse leader than Badenoch.

She is woeful. I genuinely don’t even understand what she or her party currently stands for.
They will keep her another year maybe 2 then parachute in someone for the next GE that “totally” had nothing to do with the previous Tory gov.

I don’t think my towns local conservative party exists anymore. I think most of the hard core conservatives have gone to reform.
Because they were so totally going to keep her on until the next GE.

Who remembers when politics was actually quite boring? Yet those are the times we wistfully look back on with glee (and rose tinted glasses of course).

You put a woman in charge when the ship starts to sink. Think about how many women have been elected into office since Thatcher, that’s ZERO.

Please choose Jenrick so swathes of the South can go yellow and the right wing block (Tories+Reform) are denied a majority.
I mean, they’ve gotta put the worst person in for the job after such a dire loss at the last general election. That way, when someone who looks vaguely normal becomes party leader, it’ll make a bigger impact.
They need to go for Cleverly or the party is actually completely finished.
She was never going to be the tory leader come next election.
They are done for. They will fall into the death spiral of leadership challenges, then MP defections while more of their grass root support runs to Reform.

It’s the Right Wing Magic Politics Show. The Tory Leader gets in the box. The magician, we’ll call him Mr. Reinvention, stabs them multiple times. But, ta-da!! Reform emerge unscathed from the same right-wing box! The crowds can’t believe it and go crazy, and the producers (big oil et al) smile from the Royal Box at their new horse in the race.
They purged anyone sensible years ago and calling those who remain the dregs is an insult to dregs. Getting rid of Badenough is not going to change the fact that the Tories are almost irrelevant now because of Reform.
At this point its shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic for the Tories., Had their chance and biffed it. Now its a matter of how long before Labour realise they are in deep shit and actually do something before Reform takes over and it gets mental.
With who? The entire brand is poisoned – it doesn’t matter who the leader is. They have lost millions of voters due to Brexit, Johnson and Truss and they aren’t coming back.
I don’t even know that party is supposed to do replacing her makes the party look more disorganised They would’ve had 5 leaders in the time Labour’s had 1. But keeping her when she’s such an uninspiring character seems like massive mistake too

Pretty sure Jenrick is the last of the candidates who stood to replace Boris Johnson. They’ve already burned through Truss, Sunak, and Badenoch.
Unless the Tories ditch this poisonous “anti-woke” nonsense, they’re finished.
I’ve been saying since she became leader, there’s not a chance of her taking the Tories into a general election. She’s there while the Conservatives mark time in opposition – there’s no way she’d ever convince the type of people who gave the Tories a huge majority in 2019 to vote them into Government!
Jenrick is similarly useless but seems the current favorite for some reason. Sunak was genuinely more appealing than both of them, and even he was useless! If the Tories were serious about winning, they need to find someone who is both enough of shrewd, media savvy bull-shit artist to counter Farage’s substance-free populism, while also reassuring old-school Tories that the party is for serious ‘grown ups’ again.
I really don’t see the Tory party being a thing in 10 years without massive recruitment and new blood. The entire current management needs to go. It’s akin to a private equity company buying a company, restructuring and removing all the staff, and still calling it the same thing.
Badenochs entire career has more steps of her failing to get elected and failing to retain seats than it does her actually winning them.
