      Council Housing stock needs to be split into ‘Emergency Housing’ which exists only on 3-5 year contracts, and ‘Long Term Let’ which then rents at 90% market rate or gets means tested.

      This is such an insult to the system.

      I couldn’t afford to live in London but it’s good to know my taxes go towards subsidising foreign nationals to live there instead.

      A charity I once did volunteering for sent 50 medical fridges there, the local police and goverment used them for food and water

      Not one got their final destination after initially being ask for 5k to get them out of customs.

      I grew up on an estate in Bermondsey and fraud was absolutely rife.

      This lumped in with the usual fraud is rife.

      There’s plenty of “normal” people fudging the system somewhere.

      Whether that be only being paid in cash, not declaring, letting other people live there without declaring, falsely claiming UC/other things etc etc

      All adds up

      Social housing and in particular right to buy needs reform. There simply isn’t enough social housing for the demand. Once social housing has done its job, by allowing you to lift yourself out of poverty and into a financial position where you no longer need social housing then you should move into private rental or buy your own place.

      I don’t get how we can negotiated complex trade deals with bizarre nationaliaric countries yet can’t tackle home grown problems like this. Just a law. Something tells me Labour don’t want to annoy the rich people

      Council housing is fucked nationally.

      Needs massive reform. Build a lot more. Stop giving housing to immigrants and refugees. Preferential treatment for British nationals.

      I think this is the biggest drive for people to the far right. If people had stable social housing they’d feel a lot more content. Shame all mps are bent and will never get massive social reform like we got in the post war period. Despite it being needed yesterday.
