Writing here as sub doesn’t allow self text. ECHR protects everyone. If this goes through British citizens rights will also be affected. It’s voting your own rights away to spite others and make things difficult for them.

  2. Remember when the Tories celebrated taking away YOUR freedom of movement? This is like that – but dumber

  3. So Badenoch is against human rights now, I am absolutely *shocked* that a Tory would be so self serving and openly want to discriminate against the public.

  4. Giving up your own rights because you don’t want others to have them either is a special kind of stupid.

  5. The death of a political party accelerates as the desperation sets in. It’s like a wound spilling blood that you will do absolutely anything to stem the flow. Here the blood is voters fleeing from the Tory cesspit. Things like what she says here will just cause the decline to go nuclear as she can say and promise anything. Tory party is dead.

If anyone is considering this they should have the replacement drafted so the public can decide whether to vote for them or not.

The Tories have a choice is going far right or taking the centre ground.

With Labour imploding, the centre ground is there for the taking.

But they are going for the far right.

She wouldn’t be drawn on this on the radio yesterday, it was painfully obvious she was in favour of leaving though.

She also mentioned the Rwanda plans got scrapped because the law needed changing on how legislation is brought in (or words to that effect)? Anyone know what she was talking about?

Too fucking late to play this card now. The Tories are totally and completely fucked.

We are not ‘in’ the ECHR, we signed up to make it part of UK law and we did. It is in UK law as the Human Rights Act. So they literally want to take away our UK Human Rights. For anyone who doesn’t know what they are it is everything from life to privacy, health, education, family, religion, freedom of speech, association. Every thing that keeps a government controlled by Oligarchs from just turning us back into serfs working for a few overlords. So fuck you Bad Enoch.

  11. From the basic research I’ve seen recently, a lot of the ECHR is written in a way that can be interpreted softly or harshly based on local law. “Except in cases of domestic law / under reasonable conditions” etc. Seems like the ECHR isn’t the problem, rather the political leanings of judges who enforce it.

  12. Is there not a middle ground where we have laws to protect our human rights while still allowing us to deport foreign pedophiles, even if their home country prisons are not nice to pedophiles?

Am I taking crazy pills? Is that not possible?

Why does it always feel like it’s either ‘no rights’ or ‘pedophiles get to stay because no one likes them’?

Those can’t be the only two way to organise ourselves as a society.

  13. The mess we’re in now was created by 14 years of Tory government.

Anyone wanting Tories back in needs to look at the mess we’re in now and seriously give themselves a reality check.

Their handling of COVID and everything since was an absolute shambles.

The Tories aren’t going to make things better. They’re a stain on British politics, much like Reform will be should they ever be given any sort of power.

  14. Jeez, Kemi, we’re already not going to vote for your Party, you don’t have to keep convincing us

  15. No legal representation.
    No jury or fair trial.
No protection from the state overreach.
    No protection against employers.
    No support for the vulnerable.
No right to free access for basic services. No privacy.

The future is bleak. I wonder which freemason illuminati mossad lizard agents are pushing this  behind the scenes.

  16. Just to remind everyone, these are the core rights of the ECHR, and just how batshit evil farrage and badenoch are for wanting to leave.

Badenoch could promise to broadcast state secrets and hard-core pornography instead of the 10 o’clock news every night on BBC1, and she still wouldn’t get anybody to vote for her…

  18. Honestly this is a really shit idea, but even if Kemi came out with a great idea, I still wouldn’t vote for her or her dead party.

  19. >“not come to this decision lightly, but it is clear that it is necessary to protect our borders, our veterans and our citizens”.

Veterans? What is this? This dim as feck light bulb that’s casting a shadow thinks the ECHR doesn’t protect citizens and veterans (whatever they’ve got to do with it in particular), at all?

Removing ourselves from the ECHR to tackle immigration is not just cutting off your nose to spite your face, it’s ripping it off completely because it doesn’t look right in particular lighting.

It’s bad enough that her and her supporters shot themselves in the foot over the EU Referendum, but now they’re stupid enough to go after the other foot to make matters exceedingly worse for themselves and everyone else.

I think if I read correctly some time ago there are currently only 2 other nations not part of the echr they are Russia and Belarus I would rather not be associated with either of those nations

  21. Notice how there is no plan on protecting any of the rights we actually want to protect from the ECHR. Without a plan to protect those rights you have to assume the worst.

  22. Step 1 – Encourage xenophobic behaviour and spread hate
Step 2 – Convince the public Human Rights needs to be removed
Step 3 – Screw over the working class
    Step 4 – Profit

They took everything else in their last sitting. That’s probably the only thing left.

  24. This is the person who campaigned hard for BREXIT and who still won’t acknowledge the damage it caused.
