EDIT: Don’t get me wrong, I love Gruyère and I am sure it is fantastic. But out of the top 5 cheese, all but 1 are Swiss. redsterXVI on November 15, 2025 9:07 am Gruyere is simply the fucking GOAT. Doesn’t even matter, young, ripe, “hard”, melted, … fuck, even those melty toast slices! And it’s so easy to combine with a milder cheese or creamier cheese, if pure Gruyere is a bit too much or you want a more complex flavor profile, too! Easily one of the best tasting and most versatile cheeses out there.
jrgndk8 on November 15, 2025 9:36 am I do love a good Gruyère well matured…but… really? best cheese?!
