Submission Statement:
Much of the discussion is about things I already knew, but I hadn’t thought about less palm trees and more drought-resistant native trees with large canopies like lived oaks.
We all need to start our planning now, and cities will also need to adapt their plans to the coming changes. I don’t see individual nor cities doing both the short-term and long-term planning that will be needed.
This will be the coldest summer of the rest of your life.
>When you turn on your tap, about 90% of that water comes from far away: the Owens Valley, Northern California and the Colorado River.
Los Angeles needs to build more desalination plants along the coast. That will help tremendously to have a powerful local water source.
